The International Journal of Critical Studies on Muslim Societies (IJCSMS) upholds high standards of peer review while ensuring an efficient and timely editorial process.

All research articles submitted to IJCSMS undergo a rigorous peer-review process with the following key characteristics:

  • Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two qualified experts in the relevant field.
  • All publication decisions are made by the Editors-in-Chief based on the reviewers’ recommendations.
  • Members of the international Editorial Board provide guidance and support in editorial decision-making.
  • Managing Editors and Editorial Assistants provide administrative support to ensure the integrity of the double-blind peer-review process while maintaining efficiency for authors, reviewers, and editors.
  • The journal may also benefit from manuscript referral processes supported by high-quality peer reviews from established journals.
  • The overall process, including peer review, editing, copyediting, and proofreading, typically takes 6–8 months.

Peer Review of Referred Papers

For manuscripts referred from other journals, the Editors of IJCSMS will make prompt decisions to accept, reject, or request revisions based on the existing reviews and editorial evaluations. Additional reviews may be requested if necessary, and authors will be informed accordingly.

Peer Review of New Submissions

Manuscripts submitted directly to IJCSMS will undergo a full double-blind peer-review process by at least two qualified reviewers selected by the Editors-in-Chief. Based on the reviewers’ reports, the Editors-in-Chief or an assigned Editorial Board member will decide whether the manuscript should be accepted, revised, or rejected.

Editorial decisions are based on the quality, originality, and validity of the research. Manuscripts must demonstrate well-conducted research with conclusions supported by the data presented. While priority is not a determining factor, each submission must contribute new or incremental knowledge to the existing literature.
