Peer Review Process
World of Immersive Learning (WIRL) is committed to maintaining high standards of peer review while ensuring an efficient and timely publication process.
All research articles published in WIRL undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process, with the following key characteristics:
- All manuscripts are reviewed by at least two qualified experts in the relevant field.
- Final publication decisions are made by the Editor-in-Chief based on reviewers’ evaluations.
- Members of the Editorial Board provide guidance, insight, and support in editorial decision-making.
- The Managing Editors and Editorial Assistants ensure smooth administration of the review process while maintaining confidentiality and efficiency.
- The journal may also benefit from manuscript referral processes, incorporating high-quality peer reviews from established journals where applicable.
- The overall process—including peer review, editing, copyediting, and proofreading—typically takes 6–8 months.
Peer Review of Referred Papers
For manuscripts referred from other journals, the Editors will:
- Make prompt decisions (accept, reject, or request revisions) based on existing reviews and editorial evaluation
- Request additional reviews if necessary
- Inform authors if further review is required
Peer Review of Direct Submissions
Manuscripts submitted directly to WIRL will:
- Be reviewed by at least two independent reviewers selected by the Editor-in-Chief
- Be evaluated by the Editor-in-Chief or assigned Editorial Board member
Based on the reviewers’ comments, the decision will be:
- Accepted
- Rejected
- Returned for revision
Editorial Decision Criteria
Editors evaluate submissions based on:
- The quality and rigor of the research methodology
- The validity and reliability of the data
- The relevance and clarity of the conclusions
- The contribution to the field (novelty or incremental advancement)
Editorial decisions are based on scientific merit, not on perceived priority or impact.
